I'll drop my two cents in here.  I've been attempting to get a good driver for the waikiki audio chipset for quite some time.  Unfotunately it's picky and I've only had success using drivers that were already built for the waikiki chipset.  For gentleman with sound issues above try this link. I've been running that driver with great success for general audio ouput.  I have yet to test my microphone so the microphone issue may be present. The reason this beast doesn't satisfy me is because I'm looking to get my s/pdif port enabled and online for use in my dvd player.  Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be present.  I'm looking forward to the results of driver that is being built, also for the inf my deivce ID 😉 is

I wasn't able to find the driver from your the link you provided.  I'm sure hoping for anything better than the Vista or default Windows 7 driver.  Right now, I can't test my built in microphone, need to get a new one.  But for the audio through the speakers, the popping can get in the way a lot.  It's mostly when the audio hasn't been made from the laptop for a few minutes.  After that, when audio does come through the speakers, that's when the popping happens at the beginning. 😞
