I have a HP Paviion G6 with 8 Gig of memory, Window 8.

Windows will not boot.

(Secure boot disabled, and Legacy mode enabled.)

On startup it imediately displays the message "Initialize library failed 0xc0000229" and tries to restart, looping with this error.

I can force it to boot from CD restore disk, using escape F9 (boot device options) and select cd.

I am trying to restore back to initial software using HP restore Disks that I have ordered.

When I insert the first recovery disk it seems to boot but shortly after I get the following  error "

 -------------------------------

"Recovery

Your PC needs to be repaired

An unexpected error has occured

Error code 0XC0000229

You will need to use the recovery tools on your installation media"

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I have run memory and Disk diagnostics in startup (F2) with no issues.

Any info would be helpful.

I am thinking that the problem may be a bios problem and considering replacing/updating it.

Bios is Insyde version F.26

After some reading (learning curve with windows 8/EFI) I am leaning towards restoring the HP_TOOLS EFI partition, which may be corrupt.
