I have HP Pavilion DM1 4003AU notebook. Since last 2-3 weeks the notebook gets excessive heat and due to this reason or any other reason the keyboard and touchpad stops working. When I plug the USB mouse then the mouse works. Another problem is the bluetooth hardware is not found while installing the bluetooth driver.

Due to above reason I changed the operating system two times and install all the HP recommended drivers and softwares but still the problem is same.

So please tell me the suitable way to resolve these problems as soon as possible.

Thank You

I am having the same issue with my HP DM1-4000AU...
except for the bluetooth issue.

The keyboard and touchpad works fine when I first switch on the netbook but it stops responding after sometime. Putting the laptop to sleep and back on works fine.
The power button works fine...

Please advise....

I agree with you Mr Mustafa Khan but after sleep back the touch pad and keyboard works for at least 15 minutes and again the problem is same.

I want a reply by HP support team.

Please do reply.

well, I gave my netbook for repair at the authorized service center here in Dubai. They kept it for a week and then returned saying that it is not supported in middle east (the netbook was bought in Pakistan).

They said they suspect the motherboard (not sure how it is might be the issue)...

a reply directly from HP would be great!

Actually, My Keyboard problem occurs when Connected to the Internet using Huawei E173 Mobile Broadband.

It also occurs on Logon. Whenever I'm using the network, WiFi or LAN, the problem occur.

To All: Can you describe/discuss how this problem occur in your HP Laptops?

I bought mine in Nov'11 and didn't notice the problem for the first 1-2 months even when playing games like Lineage2 (high cpu/gpu load, high temperatures).

For the first time I noticed the "freezing touchpad/keyboard" problem around Jan'12 on Ubuntu. I thought it is some linux compatibility issue coz it didn't happen on W7 earlier.

After some time I gave up on Ubuntu and reinstalled W7 (from OEM image, not recovery partition) and since then it happens on W7 as well 😞

It may bo coincidence, but do you guys use the preinstalled system or not?

What is your BIOS version?
