I have tried all your forum tricks and non work, when you turn on my dv-6 the red led on the f11 key and f12 key stay on.

And nothing will turn them off. And a blank screen I have tried using a monitor.

All this started after the latest windows 7 update, yet my desktop thought about starting and then started no problems after a short delay. I have tried putting in the recovery disc but nothing, I have a up to date Norton anti-virus.

Hello Georgekt,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

I understand that your computer's LEDs are continuously lit with a blank screen, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!

To further diagnose this issue, I recommend following this document on Computer Does Not Start and the LEDs Blink or the Computer Beeps. This should help determine the reason for the blinking lights.

For more assistance, I will need to know:

The Product and Model Number of your notebook computer.
The bit-version of Windows 7 you have installed on your computer.
If your computer has completed all of its important Windows Updates.
If you have updated your HP drivers using the HP Support Assistant.
If this is an on-going, or recent issue.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, as well as the requested information above. I look forward to your reply!

i took out the ram and fitting another matched set, and the f11 led light went out and the laptop went back 2009. So it took several hours to update. But it is running better now better screen and indeed quicker.
