Hi,
The error would indicate that your Hard Drive is failing and will need to be replaced.
If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced - you can check your warranty status Here.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.
If you are out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive yourself, please let me know - include the full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook ( from the service tag underneath your notebook ) - see Here for a further explanation.

Hello, I have the error code #10008 and want to replace the hard drive. I believe that my laptop is out of warranty. The product #is FR922UA. Could you please send me a list of compatible hard drive replacements or a fix to avoid the bad sectors. I have a backup on a detachable hard drive, but is there another way to save my data? Hi sir, I have a 3-4 yr. old HP laptop and can't get into my OS at all. I see the message #10008 Replace Hard Disk1 when i run the SMART test. Do I have to buy a new driver, if not what are my other options? I am pretty computer savy. If I have to buy a drive though please direct me to the type. I see that you are having problems with the same error message.
The error message indicates that the hard drive has most likely failed and will need to be replaced.

I have an HP G62 Laptop with a failed hard drive. The serial number is {Personal Information Removed} and the product number is XZ259UA. Could you please send me instruction on how to install the new hard drive? Thank you!
