Product: Hpg7-2243 me notebook
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
My son has locked the laptop on the windows screen we can not recover the password or reset the account. I've tried to reset the laptop several different ways. F11 button didn't work. Taking the battery out and undoing everything didn't work. Is there any other way to reset the computer

Hi,
Only other way to factory reset is to order HP Recovery USB from HP support directly and then boot from it in your laptop. HP would charge you ~$60
Specs: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03511038
Your laptop came with Windows 8 64 bit
Phone assist: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html
Reputable 3rd party online sellers like this have it in their stock: $27

Also you also have an option to clean install Windows 8.1 64 bit in your laptop (that came with Windows 8 from factory) using Microsoft windows media creation tool by creating UEFI bootable installation USB. Windows 8.1 will automatically activated after installation while connected to internet.
Windows 8.1 installation will use Windows 8 activation key that is retrieved from BIOS chip on board automatically
