Dear fellow users,

I got a black screen after the fix recommended. I dont know if I misfollowed the instructions 😞

Can you do a recovery of Windows 10 and try it again?

Please help me!!!!!

HP Recommended

i had same issue with mine, Intel graphics.  Go to Intel set, download Intel Driver Update Utility.  Install it and let it update, reboot, and all is well.

for my dv6 both graphic hardware is radeon. 4200 n 6370. so intel fix wont work for me.

see if the manuf. has a driver mod/install utility.  I tried using the HP driver, which was supposed to be the fix, and it never worked.  I actually just stumbled upon the Intel utility while on their site.  But the Intel install actually worked where the HP one just kept bombing out.  Hope you find it...drove me nuts for a couple weeks too.

Hi,

here is the solution to your problem.

Go to "Control Panel". Click on "Hardware and Sound". Then Click on "Display". On the left click on "Change Display Settings". Now, while you're HDMI is connected to any device, the name of that device will appear in the "Display" dropdown. Select that device and select the checkbox appears after that asking "Make this you main display". Click on save. Now you will able to control your PC from that device, a TV or any other.

But there is a drawback that you'll lose control from the PC itself. All you have to is while look on your TV or the device you have connected.

Unfortunately the problem with the AMD driver is not as simple as selecting the screen in Control Panel.

Without the correct driver the HDMI port is not recognised and no secondary screen is selectable by the OS.

After receiving a major Windows 10 update last night with an AMD driver time stamped November 4th 2015, I had hopes the HDMI port on my CTO notebook would be supported. :manfrustrated:

Am considering a USB to HDMI adapter but riles me that HP, AMD, Intel and Microsoft can't be bothered to sort this.
