Junk files are temporary or unused files which are created by operating systems or other software during their installation and running process. So, we need to remove junk files from your system. You can easily remove manually or using software like "Optimo Cleaner".
Delete unused files from Windows XP by following steps:-
- Launch ‘Start’ menu >> ‘Programs’>> ‘Accessories’>> ‘System Tools’>>Launch the ‘Disk Cleanup Tool’
- Select the drive that you want to free up from junk files first.
- You will be provided with list of unused files of that particular drive. Review the result and select ‘OK’ to remove them.
- This similar process can be done for all drives.
From Windows 7, follow below steps:-
- Launch ‘Start’ menu
- Type ‘Disc Cleanup’ in search box to launch this utility tool.
- Select the drive which you want to clean up first and click on ‘OK’.
- Review the list of junk files and click ‘OK’ to delete them.
- By using same process, all partition of hard disk can be cleaned from junk and unused files.

Junk Files are the main reason for Free Disk Space and PC's Slow Speed. There are many Junk file cleaners available and i believe use Disk Cleanup which is inbuilt utility of window. You just go to search programs and files option and type there RUN and enter, then you will see RUN dialog box and in open field type diskcleanup and use that. But if its not 100% effective for you then use Krojam Cleaner. Both are reliable junk file removers.
