I would first suggest trying to do a system restore to a point when the sound was working correctly. Here is a link that explains how to do that. Open the link and select the option "Restoring Windows to a previous point".

 

Follow the steps in the link and let me know what happens.

Hi,

That did not resolve the problem.  I did the test with the headphones and I get sound from that just not my speakers.

 

What would you suggest next?

Hi,

 

I have tried those as well when seraching the net.  How do I get in contact with HP as I believe my laptop is still under warranty.  May be they can resolve it.

Hello 

 

You would need to install the driver into your computer. You can find the driver in the support website of hp. Or you can update the driver in your computer. You can use RadarSync to scan your computer so that it will detect the update. The update will then automatically installed without you doing anything at all. You just need to press a button.
