Hi dodop,
Can you please give me a bit more information so we can begin troubleshooting. What is the exact model number of your product? Click here to find out. Also which Operating system are you currently running? Find out here . Are there specific error messages you are receiving? Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks,
I work on behalf of HP

Hi, i've just done everything you have instructed and the status is 'this device is working properly'. Not sure what my sound card is called but this came up 'AMD high definition audio device' and 'IDT high definition audio CODEC'
The sound still isn't working, what should i do next?

I wnet thru the steps to restore sound, but I do not get a speaker rather I get remote speaker, and do not have get a dark font apply button. Is there another avenue to go down to retore sound to my lap top? I have speaker slides all the way up, and I am sure nothing is muted that I can see anyway.
Any help willbe most appreciated.
Thanks
