Hi there @piyush123

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.

I understand that you are seeing heat and performance issues, and I am happy to help with this. First, please post the full product number for your notebook. See the following, if you need help with that information.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

I do not have anything directly about the sensors, but you can look through these pages to otherwise resolve the problem you are having. Also once I have the proper model number, there may be a driver or other update that could help as well.

Why Computers Generate Heat

Resolving Slow System Performance (Windows 7)

Let me know if that helps at all.

Here is the driver page for the notebook: HP G42-355TU Notebook PC - Software & Drivers

If the pages I gave you on heat management are not helpful, then I would suggest possibly trying to update the BIOS or maybe the chipset drivers.

Let me know if you see any improvement or  not.

@Aliikoma

Two questions that are similar, but really about two different issues:

Does the HDMI connector on the Notebook seem solid, or does it jiggle a bit?

Does the HDMI cable you are using fit snugly or does it seem a bit loose in the socket?

If the connector itself seems to jiggle a bit, it would suggest that the socket on the board has a bad connection as if the solder has given out. In the other case the connector is solid in its mount but the link between it and the cable is not the best.

If either of those conditions seem to apply, then the problem would be with the board itself, as the HDMI is a part of the main board. To fix it, would normally require a replacement of the board. In that case you would want to call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

Let me know, one way or the other.

If you suspect that it is a damaged or defective sensor, I believe that it would require a board replacement. I do not think it is a separate part. But I would recommend you call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

That way you can check on your options.

Thanks for the sugestions. The connections are fine and I have the laptop lifted so I doubt it's from overheating. I'll finish up on your suggestions, but then I'm going to take it in to a local repair shop to see if they can figure it out. Hard to believe that  a month after my one year warranty expired this would happen. Oh well Murphy's Law!

Thanks for your time and effort,

Koma
