Hi and welcome to HP support forum!

You have to download the program for fingerprint configuration first.
You can find it in the driver downloads section of your product searching with your product id.

Choose your operating system (preferably win8 or win 7)
Download "HP ProtectTools security manager (international)" under Software Security section.
Install and open it, follow instructions and you're done.
