are there any laptops by hp that have a serial port along with usb?? I really need a true serial port.

I do not think we have any consumer models with serial port. There are still a few business\Enterprise notebook models with serial ports.

 

The HP ProBook 6470b  and 6570b Notebook PC both have serial ports.
