internal microphone not working on pavilion dv7

I'm experience the same problem, where my integrated mic and web cam are not working. I have sound, but can not use either device in skype or out of it.

The integrated microphone array and webcam are still not working on my HP Pavilion dv7 notebook.  The tips on this thread have not solved the problem.  It is quite stunning that many people seem to have exactly the same issue, but this does not get resorted on a timely manner by HP.

An external microphone and webcam work fine.

After re-installing the driver for Webcam and it is still not recognized on the unit - especially in he DEvice Manager section - then the best bet is to setup service . Please call HP @ 1 800 HP invent and requst service.

I am having the same issue of Mic and Webcam not working on my laptop. I have already tried re-installing audio drivers. YouCam is unable to detect my Webcam and its not to be found in device manager too. Here are the details of my laptop:

It seems HP has already stated their answer in a previous post on 6/12 by Sanchertz :
