I have an HP Pavilion g series and I have always had the problem of being disconnected from the internet randomly. I will be working on whatever webpage and all of a sudden the internet will cut and I will get the yellow triangle with an exclamation point "no internet access" over the wifi bars at the bottom right corner of the screen. It will take 10-30 seconds for it to reconnect but it is annoying because this happens quite frequently. I was living abroad since I got the computer (a friend of mine brought it to me from the states) so I always thought that it was the unpredictable internet of South America. But now I am back in the US and it is doing the same thing. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I understand you are experiencing intermittent disconnects using a wireless connection.
What is the product number?
NOTE: Do NOT provide the serial number.
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
Have the drivers for the wifi card been updated?
This may seem unrelated at first, but has the router's firmware been updated? This is a good first step when experiencing wifi issues even if there is only one system showing symptoms.
Does the issue happen in one location or at other locations as well?

The product number is QE057UAR#ABA
I have tried doing troubleshooting but that has not seemed to help. I was looking on the hp websites to update internet drivers but it was difficult to know which ones would be useful, there were many to chose from. If you could direct me to the correct driver that might help this problem I will try to download it and see if it works.
The routers firmware has been updated. This is the only computer using the router that is having the problem. And yes I have had this problem on this computer in multiple places using different internet connections/routers. That is what leads me to believe that it is something in the computer that I need to change/update.
Thank you for your help.

Sorry for the delayed response, I haven't been using my computer a lot so I wanted to make sure that the problem was solved. I downloaded the driver that you posted and it does not seem to have worked. I downloaded it again to make sure and I still seem to have the same problem. Could there be other drivers that I need to update? Or something else that I could try? This problem is very frusterating!!! Thank you for all your help

No worries. 🙂
How long does it normally take for the issue to occur? If it isn't too long, I would like to try using the Internet in two different modes: safe mode with networking and clean boot.
To enter safe mode with networking, follow these steps.
1. Power on the notebook and press F8 about once a second to get an advanced boot menu.
2. Select Safe Mode with Networking.
3. Use the Internet for the length of time that it usually takes for the issue to happen.
Let me know what happens in safe mode.
To enter a clean boot, follow these steps.
Let me know what happens in a clean boot mode.
These are not necessarily solutions, but tools in identifying the root cause of the issue. At this point, it doesn't seem to be a firmware issue in the router since it happens at other locations as well. I doubt every router you encounter has a firmware issue. You already have the newest driver and it doesn't seem that Broadcom provides drivers directly.

The driver I provided was the newest driver from HP. Out of curiosity and so that others can use the solution, would you mind sharing the link to the driver that fixed the issue for you?

Very interesting indeed. For some reason, that driver is not listed for the G6-1C37CL notebook. I'm certain safe mode with networking would have exhibited the symptoms as well since it definitely appears to be related to the driver.
In any case, I am glad it is not resolved for you. Thanks for updating the community. 🙂
