I have a pavilion dv5 2100 serial no. cnu 0511 fhv For the last 2 weeks I noticed a delay for letters or numbers to appear on the screen thus creating incomplete words. Same type of delay to open e-mail. check the up and download speed from fios and are in spec 5/15. Contacted internet explorer to see if IE 11 was the problem on my 64 my microsoft 7 they found nothing wrong. Re booted my fios router and change channel. Still have the same issue

thanks for the help

Hi verdun,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

I see that you are experiencing a delay when typing on your keyboard. Does this only occur when you are online or also when you are typing in a program like Microsoft Word or Notepad? Try this HP document Notebook Keyboard Troubleshooting. There is a section for “Notebook key presses are slow to respond”.

Hi verdun,

Let's go to your Device Manager and look for the Keyboard drop down. Right click the keyboard listed there and selected uninstall. Then restart your computer and Windows will reinstall the keyboard driver. Let me know how that works.

I am back with the same problem tried what you recommended with no success. Had the hardware scan for malwares by professional did not solved the problem. This issue happen on and of line and with office 2007 I had kaspersky do a deep scan did not change the problem also use chrome as browser same results. If I recalled this problem appeared at the same time as EI 11 was dowloaded but not sure. The delay is not constant they are days when the key board work normally

Thanks for considering my problem

Hi verdun,

Sorry to hear back from you. 🙂 I was hoping my last post had solved the issue for you.

Try doing a Clean Boot as described in Method 2 in the Answer of this Microsoft Answers link. A Clean Boot It will load Windows with minimal software and drivers. Follow the rest of the steps under Method 2 to check to see if a Service is causing the problem.

If doing the Clean Boot fails right way try creating a new profile to see if the problem occurs. This Microsoft Support link will show you how to do that. It is for Windows 7 but you can change the operating system in the upper right corner.

Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue.
