Hi Ledwy

Thanks for visiting the forums!

The good news is you can upgrade total RAM of your system upto 16GB. Problem is your memory bay has only 2 slots for it. So you have to put two 8GB RAMs of identical configurations for making it 16GB.

Here is your Product specs.

Here is the User guide -- Go through Page 5 Chapter 1 Product description, you can find:

Two customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots

DDR3-1600-MHz dual channel support

Supports up to 16384-MB system RAM

Supports the following system RAM configurations:

● 16384-MB (8192-MB×2; not supported on computer models equipped with a 32- bit operating system)
● 12288-MB (8192-MB×1+ 4096-MB×1; not supported on computer models equipped with a 32-bit operating system)
● 8192-MB (8192-MB×1 or 4096-MB×2; not supported on computer models equipped with a 32-bit operating system)
● 6144-MB (4096-MB×1 + 2048-MB×1; not supported on computer models equipped with a 32-bit operating system)
● 4096-MB (4096-MB×1 or 2048-MB×2)
● 2048-MB (2048-MB×1)

So, you have to either be satisfied with the current configuration of 2*4=8GB (OR)

buy two 8GB of identical RAM configurations (DDR3 1600MHz SODIMM SDRAM) and replace both the 4GBs from the slot.

Hope this resolves your concern, post back if you have any doubt.

thanks,
