I have a HP EliteBook 8460p. Replaced the faulty hard drive with a new Hard drive which was sent by HP. Tried to do a new, clean install ofWindows 7 Pro but I keep getting an error that says "a required cd/dvd device driver is missing".
I have read some HP support forum where i need to download Storage Controller Driver
I'm unable to find the Storage Controller Driver, Can some please forward the link to download

Hi:
Try this:
Download the drivers from this link below (first or second file listed -- 32 or 64 bit as applicable).
Extract the files onto a usb flash drive.
With the flash drive and W7 installation media plugged into the machine, boot from the W7 installation media.
After you select the install now option, select the Drive Options - Advanced menu, then select the Load Driver option.
You should now see the storage driver files listed.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
Follow the prompts and W7 should install.

Hi:
I think that is the problem then.
Hopefully you can find the W7 pro version you need at the link below.
SP1 Media Refresh are the newest files.
Then use this tool to make the file bootable onto a 4 GB USB flash drive or a DVD.

It is very important to check to make sure the file that you downloaded reports the same size as what it was advertised to be.
For example, some members have gotten a "Download Complete" message but only part of the file was actually downloaded (like 2 GB out of 3 GB).
