Hi Sir, I am still having issues with my DV7, the lights blink 4 times which according to hp is something to do with the graphic controller not functional? I looked online and found a solution to switch the ram which is working temporarily, is there something I can do to prevent it from reoccuring or having to send it to hp for $$$ or buy a new laptop?

Hi Krios:

I understand that your notebook will not power on. I see from  previous posts that you have lights blinking. I have included a link to a document on blank screen and LED error codes.

When I start my laptop the screen won't turn on. It just stays black. I know that my battery doesn't properly work since every time I use it I need to have the charger plugged in. The caps lock blinks every 2 seconds then every 5 seconds and continuously does the same pattern. Also I have noticed that when I plug in the charger, the charging light blinks quickly 3 times and then on the 4th blink it holds it out and then the light goes away. My laptop is a HP Pavilion Dv7. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
