Hi:
That is indeed a Ralink wireless card you have in your dv7.
See if this driver works. You want to select the driver from the second grouping on the list.
PCI/mPCI/CB(RT2860/RT2760/RT2890
RT2790/RT306X/RT309X/RT35X2/RT539X)

tHANKS so much for your help!! I managed to install the drivers successfully but internet is still not working. Im not sure what the pronlem is.. the laptop is unable to detect any networks. I tried to troubleshoot and it says 'wireless capability is turned off.....not fixed'. Any ideas what i do to make internet work on this laptop.

Unfortunately, I do not have much experience troubleshooting networking issues if the driver is properly installed.
