Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Two questions:   1)When going to websites, I do not see http in the address line.  The only thing that shows up is a picture of a padlock in a locked position next to the website address (including this hp website).   Is this the new norm? Im using McAfee Total Protection.  2) How do I find my product name and number?  The provided link doesn't work for me.   I get an 500 error message.

Hi,

 

Welcome to HP Support Forum. On many sites, you can see http or https at the front you may also see www too but you won't see on many other sites and that is normal. The small lock indcates the site is more secure than other sites (without a small lock). Normally the site with a lock uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) , more info:

 

      http://info.ssl.com/article.aspx?id=10241

 

For product name and number, Please use the following instructions to find out the model/product of your machine:

  http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108
