Hello
The problem I have is when I turn on my laptop the wifi button on the keyboard lights up as (orange) which means it is turned off and when I try to turn it on it won't turn on.
The wifi/network icon on the bottom right corner would also be off and as much as I try to turn them on nothing works, so I would have to restart the computer. when restarting the process works till the blue screen appears saying "shutting down" and it takes forever, but it never shuts down.now I have to turn off the system manually by holding the power button and then turn it on. while turning on sometimes it freezes when the first screen appears that has the hp logo and the option to go to bios, or sometimes it freezes right when the four different colored wavy boxes fly to make the windows logo. then again I would have to manually turn it on and off sometimes when it turns on properly but then wifi problem would be there so it may take me like 4-6 or more times to turn it on and off until I get to see the wifi button light turns on as white then it will start working.
in order to have this problem fixed with the limited knowledge of computer that I have.
1). I tried to update all the drivers to the latest version, but nothing helped.
2). I restored the system to an earlier position when it was working well and still nothing changed.
3). I ended up restoring the system to its original factory settings, but I still have the same problem going on.
I thank you in advance for the good work and helping us. please help me with this problem for I am a full time student and have 3 online classes and in a desperate need of this laptop.

Hi @Shan20
I understand that you are having trouble with your wifi connectivity and system freezes on startup. I am happy to help with this.
For a start check out these two pages that may help with the startup problem you have described, even though it sounds more like a freeze, I think both of these should have something that can help you.
Computer Does not Start (Windows 7, Vista, XP)
Computer Locks Up or Freezes (Windows 7)
As to the wifi issue I would start with this, after sorting out the startup/freeze issue:
Resolving Universal WLAN, Wireless, and Wi-Fi Errors
If your wifi is still showing errors in Device manger or in the systray after going through that page, then please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.
http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html
If the wifi is showing normally in systray/device manger, but is not connecting, then continue through this page, and the things below until it is resolved.
Troubleshooting Your Wireless Network and Internet Connection (Windows 7)
Also, you can look at the power management for your wireless adapter:
Disable the Power Off option for the adapter:
1. Open Device Manager. (Win Key+R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
2. Expand the Network adapters.
3. Right click on the Ethernet/Wireless Adapter and click Properties.
4. Click the Power Management tab.
5. Remove the check mark beside Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
6. Click OK.
7. Test.
Forget the network: (Windows 7)
1. Press Start.
2. Type Manage wireless networks and click the application at the top of the start menu.
3. Right click on the network and click Remove network.
4. Confirm the warning by click OK.
Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.
3. In the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without quotes, and press enter.
4. Restart your PC and test.
It may also help to reset the winsock catalogue:
1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.
3. In the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without quotes, and press enter.
4. Restart your PC and test.
Reinstall the network adapter drivers:
1. Download the drivers from here but do not run them yet.
2. Go to your start screen/menu and type Device Manager.
3. Expand Network adapters.
4. Right click on the wireless adapter and choose Uninstall.
5. Run the downloaded drivers from step 1.
6. Restart your PC and test.
Test an ethernet connection:
Self explanatory. Test if the issue persists on a wired connection to rule out the wireless adapter hardware so troubleshooting can be directed towards the right areas.
Test another connection:
Many people rule out their home network as an issue if another device is working on the same network. Networking is not that simple. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to rule out settings in that device until the notebook has been tested on another network.
