Mohammed Mukrams,
I think this is the same problem I am facing with my dv4 laptop. When I power on Laptop, after some time cap lock and num lock led starts blnking in sequence of 4 blinking and then waiting for 1 sec. and again 4 blinks.
Please help me to solve this issue.

Do not purchase another HP and make sure our friends and their friends dont puchase them either. We need tp be vocal on every media site that we frequent about the issues we have had with our pc's I purchased my Laptop on 1/1/2009 5/20/10 I had to replace the screen 280.00 which wasnt the problem because its doing the same thing. I believe that one of the older posts on this site is correct it is the wiring on the left side of the monitor.

Hi Frankadello,
I am having the exactly issue. If I do exactly what you described, opening the dipslay less than 90 degrees, keep pressure on the lower left hinge, the screen will come on. After that I do not have to hold it, I can extend also extend 90 degrees. What exactly is this cable, is it orderable or extendable? Part number?
Thanks for your help!

I have an hp dv4-1275mx that I am also having problems with. The laptop will start up, but the screen will not light up. I have tried the flashlight test, but I can see nothing (just a black screen). I have also tried tilting the screen at less than a 90 degree angle, but the screen is still black. My caps lock light and number lock lights both work normally (push it and it comes on, push again and it goes back off). There is no sequence of blinking. My laptop too went out of warranty by a month or so before I started having problems. Before the blank screen problem, it would have flashing green lines running through it about every 5-10 minutes. Did anybody else have this problem? I too am beginning to think buying HP was a horrible decision. This is not the only product I have had trouble with. On black Friday on year I bought an HP printer that lasted up until a month after warranty. If anybody else has found a solution to this problem please let me know. Thanks in advance!
