I have a pavilion dv7 with a display problem. I turned on my PC and no display, I plugged in an external display and that worked. I tried some things I found online but this did not help. I decided to give the display a good smack with my hand in the area of the hinges, so I turned off  my PC closed the lid and gave it a whack opened the lid and turned it on. The display came back on maybe a loose connection I do not know

Video does not come on. Caps light and numlock lights go on and off every second. Removed battery and power and pushed power button for 40 seconds. Removed hard drive and memory and reset them, but it still will not show video. Tried to attach an external monitor but that did not work either.

like many others I too have the same problem.  This has been fixed once before and i was told it was a bezel problem.  I tried squeezing the left side hinge but nothing happend.  I also tried the static trick but that didn't work.  My caps is blinking once.  What does this mean?

My laptop is a DM4-1150ea

2 days after having my laptop for a year my screen stopped working and from reading through descriptions it would appear to be the dispay wire waring out on the hinge. The worse thing is that no one supplised this part ever since I tried to find what the problem is and your customer services always tell me to look for a reseller, but like I say, no one sells it.

I need the exact product number of your notebook to try and find the part for you.

Unfortunately, you are right. More than likely you would need to replace the entire LCD panel, but I cannot find one in stock anywhere. 😞

Here is the part number in case you want to look on your own: WD568AV

Exactly, this is the thing. You have provided me a laptop with a part that lasted a year, you have realised that this part is faulty so have stopped producing it.

And all I ever get from you are various part numbers that will not fix your faulty part.

I have always boughts HP laptops, this would be my 6th. I have even helped your tech guys a few years back when Windows SP2 was released and the laptop series I had at the time would not respond correctly.

From this experience I have been completely put off HP. I chose you because you appear to be a good company with solid products, obviously I was wrong.

I just think it is appauling that 100s or 1000s of your customers are in the exact same boat as me and have the same issue with their laptops and HP are not willing to do anything about it.
