Hi,

I think I found the problem. It's because of the beats audio software. I tried to turn it off and all the popping sounds went away. I also connected my laptop to another speakers and play it with beats audio turned on, the popping sounds came back again. When I turned it off, there was no more popping sound, so now I'm pretty sure it's not because of the hardware in my laptop, but rather because of the beats audio software

However, I know it's just a temporary solution. anyone think can help me?

Hello PTs0158,

Please take a look at this document, and follow the steps to restore your software and drivers using Recovery Manager.  Let me know if it helps resolve the occasional popping you're hearing.

Good luck!

Do I have to reinstall all the software and drivers listed by the list? or just the audio drivers which I did but didn't work

Hi,

Actually, I did install all the software and drivers as you said but there are still popping and sometimes crackling sounds while I'm listening to music and video.

Thank you anyway.

Ok, I think I figured this out.

The popping sound is caused by BEATS. There is a setting in the beats audio manager that will shut down the sound card after a set amount of seconds. Its when the sound card is powered back up that you hear the cracking/snap noise. I was able to turn this 'power saving' feature off, and the noise went away, while still being able to use beats audio for all its other features.

Granted, this is really a work around, but I was able to duplicate the problem on demand by setting the timer to 1 second, and playing a test sound every second. It would pop every time.

Hello,RobbbD

would you please tell me how were you able to turn off the power saving mode in beats audio?
