I have a HP G62 notebook product number WA912UA#ABA. It was working and then one day it would not connect to the internet by wireless access.  I have followed the documents that you posted in this thread for trouble shooting. I have downloaded the driver but I am receiving the message listed below. Yet, when I click on update driver the computer states that the correct driver is installed. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"

Hello Karmace,

I would like to assist you with resolving this issue.

  1. What is the operating system running on your HP G62-144DX Notebook PC? Click here for assistance.
  2. What is Device Manager showing under "Network adapters"?
  3. You could try using HP Recovery Manager to restore the original wireless driver. Click here for assistance.

Let me know if this works!

Best regards,

I worked on behalf of HP.

Thank you for your assistance. Unfortunately, it did not work.

Below are the questions to your questions.

1. Windows 7

2.  Under Device Status this is the message: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

IF I attempt to update the driver software from the device manager, I get the message that the driver software is up to date.

3. I attempted this but it did not work.

If you have any other suggestions I would appreciate it.

Thank you,

Karen

I have a Compaq Presario and am having the same problem - wireless suddenly stopped working.   I updated the drivers and that didn't work.  I went through all the troubleshooting and finally got "Windows wireless service not running on this computer, Error 1068, The dependency service or group failed to start."  Two different ISP support people told me it was the adapter, so I bought a USB adapter.  $49 later and that didn't work either.  It is definitely the notebook because I get wireless on my tablet.  Help please!
