Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)
"select boot image did not
authenticate." it said press ok, or enter to
continue, so we did. all that did was shut off the
computer. this happens every time we try. how
can we fix it ?

If nothing works, then tap away f2 key as soon as you power on laptop. Do extensive hard drive tests. Let it finish.
