Most importantly, your printer must be network compatible. If not then a separate printer server must be installed by following the manufacturer’s instructions.
When I received my HP Neverstop Laser MFP 1202w (EEA997) printer/scanner, which is network compatible, I first followed the quick setup instructions, but they did not work. I then searched HP’s Website to find and download the correct setup drivers. In my case, I downloaded the drivers to a NAS (network addressed storage) drive. But I could have just as easily downloaded the files onto a thumb drive, them move the thumb drive from computer-to-computer to avoid repeatedly downloading the large driver/setup files.
Once I found the right drivers and installed them on my first computer, both the printer and scanner began working just fine. The drivers even figured out my WiFi username and password, so I didn’t need to enter that information. After the printer was installed and working on my network, making printer available to other computers logged into my network was a simple matter of running the setup program from my network hard drive and following the same installation steps.
