I want to send a picture folder via email, but when I do I get the message that there is no e mail program associated and it says to go to default programs control panel to select an e mail program, but i don't know where or how i do that.

Hi saddle,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Although this is something outside of my support bounds, which precludes sending step by step instructions here are some links that should guide you through this process. The follow links are from third party sites.
How to Send Photos Via Email (Windows)
Best Way to Email Pictures - How To Send Photos
How to send a photo as an email attachment
I hope this has addressed your query. If not you can do a Google search on " How to send photo in e mail" and find many more results that you could peruse.

Having the same problem as "Saddle" - the problem is not sending photos from email, it's sending photos from the Photo Gallery. The "Sparkle1" response is to send photos from email. I would like to do it from Photo Gallery as it's easier than sending through gmail. Thanks!

Hi Sparkle - Thanks for your reply. I should have mentioned that I'm running WIndows 8.1. When I first bought the machine, I installed the only email I use which is gmail. It seems Photo Gallery wants to "associate" with a Windows Live Mail - not a gmail account. I go to Control Panel, then Default Programs. On the left side of screen is Mail, I click that and then I'm lost. Does Photo Gallery need a WIndows Live Mail account to send pics from it? If so, how do I install WIndows Live Mail. When I went onto the MS site and tried to download it, computer said "You have a newer version installed under Esssentials". I cannot find "Windows Essentials" anywhere in my machine. Thanks in advance for any further help you can provide!

HI grylynx,
Thank you for your reply.
Open Photo gallery and by pass the microsoft live account sign in.
Select your photo or photos and press the email icon in the upper right corner. Select the size for your photo and click attach.
A new Windows will open up and you can input your information and follow the prompts.
Another way to email your photos is to login to your Gmail account. Create your
Email as usual. On the bottom of the screen in the lower left corner you should see a small paper clip icon . Click on it to attach a file. Direct it to your photos and attach.
Send email as usual.
i hope this helps.

HI grylynx,
Thank you for your response. I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
I regret you are still unable to send photo directly from Photo Gallery. Here is a link to a Windows document that I hope will clarify this process for you. Photo Gallery ( support document)
You should be able to open Photo Gallery
Select the photos you want to email
click on photo email in the upper right corner
A Windows live Mail screen will open click cancel
This should open a message windows where you can input the address of the recipient and send as usual.
I hope this works for you!
