Hello iRobyu. I understand you're having some problems with the Cyberlink YouCam software.

You should try uninstalling and reinstalling the software. Try the following.

  1. Click Start, type "uninstall a program," and press Enter.
  2. When the list populates locate "Cyberlink YouCam."
  3. Right click and uninstall this application.
  4. Download and install this version.
  5. Reboot the notebook and verify that the issue was resolved.

Make sure and post the result for us on the forums. I will await your reply. Have a great day!

Reinstalled and installing new version didnt work.. C:\Program Files (x86) Youcam
The application has failed to start
because its side-by-side configuration
is incorrect. Please
see the application event log or use
the command-line sxstrace.exe tool
for more detail.

Hello again iRobyu.

This error usually refers to your notebook not having the correct runtimes for the application to run.  However, it is strange for you to be missing these as they would have been critical for running the application in the first place.  I'd like you to try installing both the 2008 and 2010 versions of Microsoft's C++ Runtime Enviornment.

You never mentioned whether you're using Windows 7 32- or 64-bit so I will include links for both.  Make sure to install both the 2008 and 2010 versions.

Windows 7 32-bit.
Microsoft C++ Runtime 2008
Microsoft C++ Runtime 2010

Windows 7 64-bit.
Microsoft C++ Runtime 2008
Microsoft C++ Runtime 2010

After installing both versions for your platform reboot your notebook and try performing the installation of Cyberlink YouCam as I suggested above.

Let me know the result; I will keep an eye out for your response.  Have a great day!

Thqnk for your response sir. What's with 32 or 64 bit? Im sorry where to find it.

Hello again iRobyu.  I am sorry for my late reply.  I was out of the office.

Those just refer to the different possible architectures which your computer could utilize.  To put it simply 64-bit hardware can handle twice the amount of data of the 32-bit.

Here is how you can determine whether you are using Windows 32- or 64-bit.

  1. Click Start.  Right click on "Computer."
  2. Select "Properties."  This brings up the system information for your notebook.
  3. In the middle is the "System section."  Take note of the "System Type" which is located here.  This will be either 32- or 64-bit.

Then you should be able to install the C++ libraries and attempt to reinstall YouCam.

Have a good day!
