I have just purchased an HP Pavilion laptop with a camera that faces me no matter what I do. The icon showing a camera and a circle is not accessible. The camera and th webcam will only face me. How can I change this to face utwards instead of inwards.

Hello Dumbbrunette,
I understand you have some questions about your webcam. The webcam in HP notebooks is intended to be used for things like web conferences, Skype, video chatrooms etc, to give a face-to-face experience. There is no outward facing camera on the notebook and only an inward facing webcam. If you need to use an outward facing webcam I suggest purchasing an external webcam that you can direct wherever you please.
Hopefully this helps! 🙂

Hey Dumbbrunette,
It would help to know which product you are using. For information on finding your product and model numbers click here: How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
The majority of notebooks do not have a front and rear facing camera like a smart phone, and typically only faces the user. Some older notebooks had flip cameras but this is not common practice any more. I regret to inform you that the camera is not meant to be used to take photos of objects and is, instead, meant for face-to-face interactions with people over the internet.
I look forward to your reply!
