Troubleshooting information for Poly DECT UC headsets, to help resolve audio problems and other general issues you might encounter when in use with a computer.
Most of the time, the primary cause of technical issues encountered while using a DECT UC headset is an inconsistent connection. Audio problems such as cutting in and out, static, and other symptoms like losing a connection with the DECT USB adapter are indicators of an unstable connection.
Follow these basic steps to address most DECT UC headset issues:
Steps to reconnect the USB adapter from the computer and restart the headset.
These headset models have a power button located on the speaker where the microphone boom is.
Savi 8210/8220 Headsets | Savi 7320/7310 Headsets | Savi 8240/8245 Headsets |
Savi 8240/8245 Headsets have the power button on the battery. If the battery doesn’t have the power button, you can turn it off by removing the battery.
After turning off the headset, disconnect the DECT USB adapter from the computer.
Step 2 - Restart the Computer
Steps to restart the computer used with the headset.
Windows: Select the Power icon in the bottom-right corner, then select Restart in the small menu that pops up. Note: Windows 10 has the power icon in the bottom-left corner. | MacOS: Select on the Apple icon in the upper-right corner and select Restart. |
Step 3 - Reconnect the DECT USB Adapter and Turn on the Headset
Steps to restart headset and connect back the USB adapter to the computer.
Once the computer restarts, reconnect the DECT USB adapter.
Turn on the headset.
The DECT USB adapter must go straight to the computer. Let's avoid USB splitters or USB Hubs.
D400 ADAPTER: To connect your DECT adapter to a USB-C port, use it with the optional USB-C adapter.
Step 4 - Resubscribe the Headset with the DECT USB adapter.
Steps to reconnect the headset to the USB adapter.
Resubscribing the headset with the DECT USB adapter means you’re reconnecting both devices with each other.
To place the headset in subscription mode:
Savi 8210 and Savi 8220 Models Turn the Volume wheel up and hold it there for 4 seconds. Upon release, you hear pairing, and the headset LED flashes red/green.
| Savi 8240 and Savi 8245 Models Press and hold the Volume up button on the headset until the headset LED lights up.
| Savi 7310 and Savi 7320 Models Press and hold the Volume up button on the headset until the headset LED flashes red and green. |
D400 Adapter Double press the subscription button until the USB adapter flashes red and green.
Subscription is successful when you hear "pairing successful" and "base connected" and the DECT USB adapter LED is solid green. | D200 Adapter Double press the recessed subscription button with a pen or paperclip until the USB adapter flashes red and blue. Subscription is successful when you hear "pairing successful" and "base connected" and the DECT USB adapter LED is solid blue. | D100 Adapter Double press the subscription button on the USB adapter until the LED flashes red and green.
When the LED on the USB adapter goes solid green, the headset and the USB adapter are subscribed to one another. |
