Poly Voyager 5200 headset disconnects repeatedly from mobile phones when connected via Bluetooth.

Possible Causes

  • Outdated headset firmware
  • Corrupted Bluetooth pairing history

  • Multiple saved Bluetooth connections
  • Incorrect headset configuration

Troubleshooting Steps

Perform all steps in the order listed below.

Step 1: Update Headset Firmware

  • Install HP Poly Lens / HP Poly Studio App from the App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Power ON the Poly Voyager 5200 headset.
  • Open the HP Poly Studio App and select Voyager 5200.
  • Check for available firmware updates.
  • Install the update and wait until the process completes.

Step 2: Disable or Reset Wearing Sensors

  • Open the HP Poly Studio App.
  • Select Voyager 5200 from the device list.
  • Navigate to Settings.
  • Locate Smart Sensors / Wearing Sensors.
  • Disable the sensors or toggle them OFF and ON.
  • Save the changes.

Step 3: Clear Trusted Devices from the Headset

  • Open the HP Poly Studio App.
  • Select Voyager 5200.
  • Navigate to Device Settings.
  • Select Clear Trusted Devices.
  • Confirm the action.
  • Power cycle the headset.

Step 4: Clear Bluetooth History on Mobile Phone

iPhone (iOS)

  • Open Settings.
  • Select Bluetooth.
  • Locate Poly V5200 / Voyager 5200.
  • Tap the ( i ) icon next to the device.
  • Select Forget This Device.
  • Confirm the action.
  • Turn Bluetooth OFF for 30 seconds and then turn it ON.

Android

  • Open Settings.
  • Select Bluetooth or Connections.
  • Open Paired Devices.
  • Locate Poly V5200 / Voyager 5200.
  • Tap Unpair / Forget.
  • Turn Bluetooth OFF for 30 seconds and then turn it ON.

If the issue persists on Android:

  • Open Settings.
  • Navigate to Apps.
  • Enable Show System Apps.
  • Select Bluetooth.
  • Open Storage.
  • Tap Clear Cache.
  • Restart the mobile phone.

Step 5: Reset the Headset (Factory Reset)

  • Power ON the headset.
  • Open the HP Poly Studio App.
  • Select Voyager 5200.
  • Navigate to Device Settings.
  • Select Reset Headset / Factory Reset.
  • Confirm the reset.
  • Allow the headset to reboot automatically.

Post-Resolution Verification

  • Re-pair the headset with the mobile phone.
  • Place a test call for 5–10 minutes.
  • Verify stable Bluetooth connection without disconnections.
