If you are reporting the audio issue from the Voyager Focus 2 UC headset sounds distorted, robotic, or unclear during calls or media playback.

Possible Causes

  • Outdated headset firmware
  • Wearing sensor malfunction or misconfiguration
  • Incorrect default audio device settings
  • Softphone configuration conflict
  • Temporary firmware or pairing glitch

Troubleshooting Steps

Please follow the steps below to isolate and resolve the issue:

  1. Update Headset Firmware

Open HP Poly Lens (formerly HP Poly Studio).
Check for available firmware updates.
Install any pending updates and restart the headset.

  1. Disable or Reset Wearing Sensor

In HP Poly Lens, navigate to device settings.
Disable or reset the wearing sensor feature.
Test the audio after making the change.

  1. Verify Default Audio Device Settings

Ensure the Voyager Focus 2 UC is set as the default audio device in:

  • Windows/Mac sound settings
  • The softphone application (Teams, Zoom, etc.)

Confirm both input and output are assigned correctly.

  1. Test on Another PC

Connect the headset to a different PC.
Check if the robotic sound persists.
This helps determine whether the issue is device-specific or system-related.

  1. Perform a Headset Reset

Use HP Poly Lens to perform a full device reset.
Re-pair the headset and test audio quality again.

In robotic or distorted audio issues with the Voyager Focus 2 UC are resolved by updating the firmware, adjusting sensor settings, verifying proper audio configuration, and performing a device reset. Following the troubleshooting steps in the recommended order ensures optimal performance and restores clear, stable audio quality.
