Known Issue: Unexpected Sleep Mode During HDMI Content Sharing

Issue Summary Poly Studio X and G7500 devices configured in Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android (MTRoA) mode may unexpectedly enter sleep mode while sharing local content via an HDMI connection. This behavior occurs if the device's local sleep timer or digital signage functionalities are enabled.

If the system does go to sleep during a session, interacting with a connected TC8 or TC10 touch controller will immediately wake the screen.

Affected Environments

• Hardware: Poly Studio X30,Poly Studio X50,Poly Studio X70 or Poly G7500
  Studio X32, Studio X52, Studio X72 and Studio G62 "should" be already running PolyOS 5.0.0 and would not be affected by this. If they are still on the older PolyOS you will see this issue to.
• Operating System: PolyOS 4.6.2 and 4.7 (Provider Mode: Microsoft Teams)
• Application: Microsoft Teams Android APK versions 1449/1.0.96.2026129709 or later
• Note: Earlier versions of the Microsoft Teams application (1449/1.0.96.2026100103 and older) are not affected.

Root Cause This behavior stems from a recent change within the Microsoft Teams application. Poly Support is fully aware of the issue and is actively tracking it under engineering ticket PVENG-41788.

Recommended Workaround

We recommend applying one of the following configuration changes until a permanent fix is released:

No change to the system required option

1. Use HP Poly device mode
   Simply swipe the TC Touch Panel from the right corner to the left and a menu will reveal itself
   Now select Device Mode:
   
   
   
   To End Device Mode click on the X
   
   
   

Change to the system required option

1. Disable the Sleep Timer: Navigate to General Settings > System Settings > Sleep > Time before System goes to sleep. Set this value to OFF
   
   

   
   If set to Off attached screen(s) will not go to sleep or turn off
   
   

   or set it to 2 Hours
   
   
   This way if HDMI is being presented locally the device does not go to Sleep for 2 hours. This ensures attached screen(s) will go to sleep or turn off

2. Disable Digital Signage: If you utilize Digital Signage instead of the standard sleep timer, temporarily disable this feature, as it triggers the same underlying issue.
