HP DeskJet 2710e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello! I have bought my printer in the UK, but then moved to the USA. Now I need your help to make a regional reset for my printer, to make it work with USA cartridges.

In the USA only cartridge 67 is available for purchase, which is compatible with my printer in the USA. But my printer still thinks that he is in the UK, so I get an error that cartridge 67 is not compatible when I insert it.

Previously, in the UK my printer worked with cartridge 305, but it is not available for purchase here in the USA. Please make it work with 67.

Support was not able to help me here, I’ve been advised to call support by phone.

if anyone finds this topic: Their only suggest was to click mouse button with ctrl-shift near the cartridge ink levels in hp software app, to make regional settings menu to appear, but there is no such menu. I saw this suggestion in similar topics previously, and this is absolutely ridiculous, because it does not work.

I am openly declaring my new country of residence, the printer is connected to local network with local IP and stuff. I even set my new country in the printer software settings EVERYWHERE I could, but it still didn’t help, printer still ‘thinks’ it’s in the UK. LOL.

Guess I’ll just buy other printer, bye-bye HP, never again. thank god my current printer is probably the cheapest out there, I only regret that I have already bought new cartridge #67 for $16.

by the way, dear HP customer support, thank you for tremendous work that you do, asking me serial number and sending a DM to click ctrl+shift  during 3 days of conversation was really an extra-extra effort, I appreciate that!
My next question is:

can I get a refund for the cartridge? It is stated on the packaging of the cartridge that cartridge 67 should work with my printer (hp deskjet 2710), but guess what, it does not. There is not a single word about region as a condition for compatibility. Personally I have a feeling like I was scammed. I have genuine printer with a warranty, I have genuine cartridge, but they don’t work together.

Way to go, thanks!

Hi @Dima359

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

You are right!! Since the printer will be used in a different region from where it was originally bought and used, we need to perform some changes called regional reset for your printer, only after that you will be able to use the printer with the current region ink cartridges.

I will be glad to assist you with the regional reset on your printer.

I'm sending you a private message to guide you on the next steps.

I hear your frustration, and I completely understand why this situation feels unfair.

In this scenario, it did not work.

I regret the inconvenience.
