HP Envy
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Our envy pro 6452 has cartidges with 67 marked on them, as per the product page I purchased 305XL which shows as compatible and look identical, however they are not working, as soon as you put them in the printer you get O + E flashing up, put the low ink 67's back in and the error goes away. Yes I have checked the tape and labels are removed. I bought two sets but I don't want to open the other set as I then won't be able to return those ones either. Printer is on latest firmware.

Where was the printer purchased?  In the US the proper cartridge would be the HP 67XL, in Europe HP 305XL is proper.  If the printer was originally set up in a country with HP 67 cartridges and you have moved (or the printer was moved) you will need a "regionalization reset".  The codes for this need to be generated by an HP Support agent with access to the regionalization reset tool.

I will ask to have your case escalated, I would expect an agent would contact you in the thread here and then follow up with a private message.

Hi @305XLcartridges

,
Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand you moved, and the printer is not accepting the new region cartridges.

NOTE: regional reset is attempted on a best-effort basis, it might not work on all printers.

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Yes" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping
