LaserJet Managed MFP Flow E52545
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was printing fine today, but about an hour ago my printer (HP LaserJet Managed MFP Flow E52545) came up with an error code (13.B2.D1 Jam in Tray 1).

I have checked all the possible spots for a paper jam, but there are no jams anywhere to be found.

I later figured out that when I clear the error code and try to print again, if I put paper in Tray 1, it will print perfectly fine.  But when I take paper out of Tray one it than comes up with this error code again that there is a paper jam in Tray 1.

I want to continue printing like I have always been printing, which is printing from Tray 2.

From my understanding the way the printer is supposed to work, is when you spool up a print job it checks if there is paper in Tray 1, if there is none it than goes to tray 2.

So what I am thinking is happening is for some reason right now it is checking if there is any paper in Tray 1, finds that there is none, but than doesn't check for paper in Tray 2 (even though it clearly shows that there is a tray 2, the printer can see it fine) and there for does not print, but than with the added benefit of instead of saying "no paper" giving this paper jam error message.

Can anyone help me to be able to print from tray 2 again?  Even telling to printer to only use tray 2, it still only ever uses tray 1, the only way to get it to print from tray 2 is to remember to select "use tray 2" when printing from anywhere, word, outlook, excel, browser etc... if I try to print and forget to check the "print from Tray 2" it will come up with a paper jam error message.

Had a technician come out, it appears there was a spring in one of the arms in tray one that was stuck open or something, thinking that there was paper in tray 1 when in fact there never was paper in tray one, which is why it would never look at tray 2.

No one knows why it was throwing a paper jam error though, but it appears to be fixed.
