Even printing text, the printer will not print on photo paper. This may have happened after upgrading to Mac OS 15.1 last week. I've rebooted the printer and the computer.

Hi @b80e753a,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e ejecting photo paper might be related to software or driver incompatibility, particularly after upgrading to macOS 15.1.
Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Update HP Software & Drivers
- Ensure that you have the latest HP drivers and software compatible with macOS 15.1. HP often releases updates to ensure compatibility with new OS versions.
- Visit HP's Software & Driver Downloads page, enter your printer model (HP ENVY Inspire 7955e), and check for the latest software.
2. Check Printer Settings for Paper Type
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners on your Mac.
- Select your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e and click on Options & Supplies.
- Ensure that the printer is set to the correct paper type (e.g., 4x6 photo paper). Sometimes the paper type gets incorrectly detected after an OS update.
- When sending a print job, make sure to select the appropriate paper type and size in the Print Settings menu.
3. Reset the Printing System
Resetting the printing system on macOS can sometimes fix driver or printer communication issues:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or hold Control and click) in the list of printers, then select Reset printing system.
- This will remove all printers. Re-add your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e by clicking the + button and selecting it from the list of available printers.
4. Try HP Smart App HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
- Ensure you’re using the latest version of the HP Smart app for macOS.
- You can download or update the app from the Mac App Store.
- Use the HP Smart app to print, as it sometimes handles print jobs better than the built-in macOS print dialog, especially for specialty paper like photo paper.
5. Test with Other Paper Types
- Try printing on regular letter paper to see if the printer responds normally. This will help confirm if the issue is specific to photo paper.
- If regular paper works fine, the issue may lie with the printer's paper handling settings for photo paper.
6. Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check if your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes printer firmware needs to be updated to work properly with new OS versions.
- You can update the firmware through the HP Smart app or from the printer’s settings menu.
Refer to this document: HP ENVY Inspire 7900e series User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for checklist of options. I was able to reset the printing system, upgrade HP Smart and print on plain paper.
HP support doesn't recognize Mac OS 15 yet. It wouldn't let me down a driver, showing only HP Smart app as the only download option, which I did. When I tried to download the latest firmware from March, it gave me the 404 page not found message- try it. I did check the printer supplies-> paper type which correctly defaults to letter size. However 4x6 was not even in the options. When I print from CMD-P or HP Smart it does allow 4x6.
Can you check for a new driver for Mac OS 15?

No one has given a solution. Mac OS 15 broke photo printing. After your standard reply, I'm not getting any more info in your replies. I posted several issues like firmware not being available (404 error) and no new driver being available. How do I escalate?
