Office Jet Pro 9020
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Hi, 13 months ago I purchased a new printer - Office Jet Pro 9020, and have been pleased with the performance. Today, for the first time, I tried to print some photos. what a nightmare !

Photos will not print and on the rear of the paper has these marks, might be the rollers are not able to feed this type of paper correctly. Tried 6 x 4 and A4 photo paper all with the same result.

Tried loads of options (Firmware and drivers up to date etc) but there seems to be a problem with the printer picking up photo paper from the top paper tray. Seems like others have had similar problems. Tried to contact customer support but hitting problems as printer in now out of warrant !

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting print quality issues, follow these steps to fix the issue.

Clean the paper pick rollers under the cartridges or inside the paper tray area.

  1. Get a flashlight.

  2. Turn off the printer.

  3. Wait until the printer is idle and silent, and then disconnect the power cord and any cables from the rear of the printer.

  4. Remove the paper stack from the input tray.

  5. Depending on your printer model, use the flashlight to find the paper pick roller.

  6. Lightly dampen a cotton swab with water, and then squeeze it to remove any excess water.

  7. Clean the rollers with the swab, rotating the rollers with your fingers to completely clean them.

  8. Allow the rollers to dry for two minutes.

  9. Reconnect the power cord and cables, and then turn on the printer.

If the issue persists, follow the steps mentioned in this HP document to fix the issue:- Click here

Let me know how it goes.
