HP OfficeJet 5222 All-in-One Printer

Hello. So recently I started embroidery as a hobby. I have the Officejet 5222 printer and haven't had many issues with it, but it refuses to print on water-soluble paper which I got to use in my projects. The paper is Pellon's "Print-Stitch-Dissolve". I have followed all instructions given by Pellon but with no results.
See the paper details here:
https://www.pellonprojects.com/products/2301s-print-stitch-dissolve/

When I load it, the printer simply spits the paper out and then attempts to print with the regular paper left in the tray. If I only feed it the special paper, it will spit it out and the print will fail and have to be cancelled.

Is my printer simply unable to print on this type of paper or is there something I can do to fix this?

I suspect the paper is not supported - the package picture (front side) does not include the weight of the paper - this is important since the printer won't support all paper weights.  "Newspaper" thin, for example, won't print.

Amazon comments indicate a few people could use it (to print) - others "not so much".

Of course, the website also says the product uses a 12V battery so the whole thing is a bit strange...

Paper Weights supported by this printer

Media Weights Supported, By Paper Path (Imperial)Letter: 16 to 24 lb; HP envelopes: 20 to 24 lb; HP cards: up to 53 lb; HP 4 x 6 inch photo paper: up to 80 lb
Media Weights Supported, By Paper Path (metric)A4: 60 to 90 g/m²; HP envelopes: 75 to 90 g/m²; HP cards: up to 200 g/m²; HP 10 x 15 cm photo paper: up to 300 g/m²

Were I you, I'd investigate a different paper to see if you can find one that provides the paper weight information - or perhaps some helpful reviews on actually printing on and using the product.

Kudos for the new  hobby, by the way.

I mother was a skilled artist and also embroidered.

I am "just tech" without the artistry.  Smiling.

Thank you for this! I think this is most likely why. I'll attempt again with a different paper soon but thank you so much for your help!
