Card had stopped printing/registering in loading tray

I succesfully printed close to 100 pages onto around 200gsm paper up until now, with some minor issues having the printer register the paper which were easily sorted by realigning the paper before trying again. Now the printer has completely stopped feeding the paper to print and only says that I need to load paper into the tray. It has no problem with thin printer paper, and I have been through the instructional guide for feed issues, cleaned the rollers with bottled water etc and the issue persists.

I have seen responses to other questions citing the weight of the paper as the issue, however as stated I have successfully printed many pages with very little issue onto the same paper. 

Have been troubleshooting this for hours now, any ideas?

Using heavier paper than recommended works in the beginning, while the mechanics of the printer is new and strong. With more and more overweight papers printed the printer mechanics start to fail and get weaker until it fails to the point that it will not even pick up the heavy paper, while it still works on thin paper.

This is a reason why all manufacturers of printers recommend maximum paper weight.
