Color LaserJet MFP M477fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

My HP Color LaserJet MFP M477fdw has been getting some smudges and smearing across the prints. Even when I scan and copy a blank white page, it'll still show some smearing across it. Just now I copied a blank page 60 times and the smearing got less and less gradually, however upon the next normal print, the smears are back.  When printing text, images or a combination of both, it seems to do some ghosting where whatever is printer at the top of the page, is also printed 4 more times down the page at a regular interval.

I am however unable to run a cleaning page, the page will go through the feed and get stuck every.single.time! I've wasted at least 50 pages trying to do this, hoping it'll go through on the next attempt. Usually I can get the pages out without tearing, but sometimes it'll tear anyway and I'm unable to get all the missing pieces of paper out of the printer.

There's no paper jam in any of the obvious locations, I've followed all the usual steps, checked all the accessible places, factory reset the unit, flipped the curling edges setting, etc. I'm suspecting there's an issue with the fuser/roller, maybe there's a paper fragment gunking up the works?

Warranty expired late 2018, unfortunately.

Damaged fuser needs to be replaced, not a cheap fix.
