HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Print will only grab one sheet at a time to print. I tried cleaing rollers, didnt change. Does HP have a way to return this printer and unused cartridges? I want to buy a new printer, probably NOT HP and NOT subscription ink.

@SkipPress, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer Paper Feed Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer is grabbing only one sheet at a time and you have already tried cleaning the rollers, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Check Paper Condition and Type

  • Ensure the paper is in good condition, dry, and not too thick.
  • Use paper recommended by HP (such as HP Photo Papers or HP Matte Brochure Paper).
  • Avoid using glossy or specialty papers that may cause feeding issues.

2. Adjust Paper Settings

  • Ensure that the paper settings in the printer software match the loaded paper (size and type).
  • For macOS 12.0 Monterey, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners and select your printer, then adjust the settings accordingly.

3. Re-align the Paper

  • Remove the paper from the input tray and re-align it.
  • Ensure there are no curled or folded edges.
  • Load a small stack of paper (10-15 sheets) to improve feeding consistency.

4. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date.
  • Download and install the latest drivers for macOS 12.0 Monterey from the HP support website.

5. Resetting the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for a few minutes.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check if this resolves the issue.

6. Printer Maintenance

  • Perform a cleaning cycle from the printer's maintenance menu.
  • Check for any debris or jams inside the printer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
