I had a paper jam in the auto document feeder.  I cleared the jam over a week ago, shut down the printer, restarted.  Unplugged the printer and restarted it again.  It keeps giving me an error message that it is still jammed.  How do you clear this message?

If the message appears as soon as you start the printer, it indicates that a sensor is in error (jam state). Did the piece of paper come out in one piece? The most common cause of this error is a bit of paper holding a flag open. You can try flossing the paper path by using a piece of cardstock and forcing it through the paper path in the normal direction of paper movement and that usually dislodges any small bits. Often it is easier to use a narrow (1-2 inch) piece and floss a few times moving across the whole width of the paper path.
