How do I clear the Document Feeder Jam status when there is no paper stuck in the printer and I have cleaned the rollers?

If you have restarted the printer and the error shows right away then either there is still a bit of paper holding a flag open, or a flag has been broken/dislodged. The flags are small plastic "fingers" that protrude into the paper path and when a sheet of paper crosses over them it actuates a sensor. One thing to try is to get a piece of card stock or thin plastic and use that to "floss" the paper path to remove any remaining "invisible" bits of paper. Only floss in the normal direction of paper flow. Never push the card stock backwards as this can break sensor flags.

Flossing did not clear the feeder jam error.  Tried updating settings and things went from bad to worse.  Cannot get to the home screen.  Tried rebooting and the printer keeps trying to align the printhead.  Can't clear the alignment message or power off.  If I continue with the alignment, it "thinks" about printing an alignment page, but never happens.  How can I reset to all default settings and completely reinstall this printer?
