If there is no mark on the tray. Write front and back on a page and top and bottom on both pages and load it. Print a page and the sheet will tell you which is top and bottom

Trays will have an icon on them showing how they feed. An icon of a flat sheet with lines on it would indicate face up side is printed. Lines also indicate which is top or bottom with the lines being at the top. If one corner is folded over then the paper loads face down. Turned down corner is the top.
