Duplex worked fine until I replaced the original toner cartridge. There's still no problem at all printing single side. Selecting duplex now causes printer to pull paper partly into duplexer after printing first side, but the paper stops with a cm or so still visible.  I can hear rollers slipping on paper trying to pull it in for a few seconds before signaling the error.

I have tried resetting the printer with a minute of unplug, using other paper, setting a mode for slower paper movement, and enabling curl reduction and have seen no improvement.  Usually the error reports as a duplexer jam, but frequently directs me to remove and replace toner cartridge after I clear the stuck paper.

My printer is a Laser Jet MFP M227fdw, and I use it from Mac OS. Other than this new issue, It has worked perfectly. Our usage is light; the printer worked for 2 years on the original cartridge.

Is your replacement cartridge OEM or 3rd party. It is possible you have a bad cartridge and if the error started just after changing the cartridge I would contact HP and have them replace the cartridge under the toner performance warranty. Unless it is 3rd party in which case you will need to contact the vendor of the cartridge.
