Hi @Ab7017
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
The E3 error on HP printers typically indicates a paper jam or an issue with the paper feed system.
Here's how you can troubleshoot and resolve it:
1. Check for Paper Jams
- Open all accessible areas of the printer:
- Inspect the input and output trays, as well as the inside of the printer.
- Carefully remove any stuck paper or small debris that might be causing the jam.
- Ensure no tiny pieces of paper are left behind, especially near rollers.
2. Clean the Paper Feed Rollers
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Locate the rollers (usually in the input tray or near the paper path).
- Use a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the rollers.
- Let them dry completely before plugging the printer back in.
3. Reload Paper Properly
- Remove all paper from the input tray and check if the paper is bent, curled, or damp.
- Use fresh, high-quality paper and ensure it is aligned properly in the tray.
- Adjust the paper guides to securely hold the paper without it being too tight.
4. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and power it on to see if the error clears.
5. Check for Obstructions in the ADF (if applicable)
- If your printer has an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), open the cover and inspect it for stuck paper or debris.
- Clean the ADF rollers using a lint-free cloth if necessary.
6. Update Firmware
- Visit the HP Support website to check for the latest firmware updates for your printer model. Follow the instructions to install the update.
7. Perform a Hard Reset
- If the error persists, you might need to perform a hard reset:
- Unplug the printer.
- Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.
- Plug it back in and restart.
