Hi @Sleven

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing that. The “E4” code can mean different things depending on the exact printer model, since HP error codes aren’t universal across all devices. To make sure I guide you correctly, could you tell me:

  • The full printer model name (for example, HP DeskJet, HP LaserJet, HP OfficeJet, etc.)
  • Whether it’s a single-function printer or an all-in-one (print/scan/copy)
  • What exactly happens when the error appears—does the printer stop mid-job, flash lights, or display a message on the screen?

With those details, I’ll be able to explain what the E4 code means for your specific printer and then walk you through the right steps.

Would you like to start by sharing the model number printed on the front or near the cartridges?

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
